Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to the Liberty Beats Wiki (LB Wiki) FAQ. Whether you are a new user trying to add your artist profile or an editor looking to master formatting, you will find answers to the most common questions below.
General Questions
What is the Liberty Beats Wiki?
The LB Wiki is a community-driven, self-hosted encyclopedia for independent musicians, AI artists, producers, and digital creators. Unlike mainstream wikis, we do not have strict “notability” barriers. If you make music or audio art, you belong here.
Do I need an account to edit or create pages?
Yes. To maintain the quality of the database and prevent spam, you must create an account and log in before you can create new pages or edit existing ones.
Creating & Editing Pages
How do I create a new page?
There are two easy ways to create a new page on the LB Wiki:
- The Search Method (Recommended): Type the exact name of the page you want to create into the search bar (e.g.,
artist:your_name). If it doesn't exist, the search results will tell you the page doesn't exist and give you a red link or a “Create this page” icon. Click it to start editing. - The Red Link Method: Edit an existing page (like your User Profile) and create a link to your new page using square brackets:
your_name. Save the page. The link will appear in red. Click the red link to create the page. - Create Page Directly:. As long as it doesn't exist, this link will be red: liberty_beats or
Go on, follow that link and create the page. If you need help with using the syntax you can always refer to the syntax page.
What are "Namespaces" and how do I use them?
Namespaces are the LB Wiki's version of folders or categories. They keep the encyclopedia organized. When creating a page, you prefix the title with the namespace and a colon.
Here are the main namespaces you should use:
artist:(e.g.,artist:wren_west) - For musician and band profiles.creator:(e.g.,creator:carlos_javed) - For producers, prompt engineers, and worldbuilders.label:(e.g.,label:liberty_beats_radio) - For record labels and collectives.genre:(e.g.,genre:cinematic_trap) - For genre overviews.
I clicked "Edit" but I'm just staring at a blank box. Now what?
Don't panic! The LB Wiki uses simple text formatting. You don't need to know how to code. Just start typing your biography. Use the toolbar at the top of the editor window to easily make text bold, add links, or insert headlines.
Syntax & Formatting
How do I format text?
Formatting is very simple. Here are the basics:
- Bold: Wrap text in double asterisks like this:
Bold Text - Italics: Wrap text in double slashes like this:
Italic Text - Headlines: Wrap text in equals signs. More equals signs mean a bigger headline:
====== Main Headline ======

How do I add an image (like an album cover or artist photo)?
To add an image:
- Click the Media Manager icon (it looks like a small picture frame) in the editor toolbar.
- Upload your image file (JPG or PNG) from your computer.
- Once uploaded, click the image in the Media Manager to insert it into your page.
How do I add links to my Spotify, SoundCloud, or official website?
External links are created automatically just by typing them (e.g., https://www.liberty-beats.com).
If you want to make a neat clickable word instead of a messy URL, use square brackets and a vertical pipe like this:
Listen on Spotify
Rules & Guidelines
Is there a specific format I should follow for my artist profile?
Yes! We recommend using our standard Artist Template. It includes an infobox on the right side for quick stats (Genres, Years Active, Origin) and sections for your Biography, Workflow/Process, and Discography. Check out our Community Guidelines for a copy-paste template.
Should I write my profile in the first person ("I") or third person ("They/He/She")?
Because this is an encyclopedia, please write in the third person. Instead of writing, “I started making beats in 2025,” write, “Wren West began producing beats in 2025.” It makes the wiki look much more professional and ranks better on search engines!
Support & Troubleshooting
I messed up a page! Can I undo it?
Yes. The LB Wiki saves every version of every page. If you make a mistake, look at the sidebar or bottom menu and click Old Revisions (or the clock icon). You can view previous versions of the page and click “Restore” to fix your mistake.
I need help with something not listed here.
